Popular Ahuriri is Napier’s buzzing harbour village. Packed with bars, galleries, boutique shops and great places to eat. This is the place to wander along a sandy beach and stroll the seaside boardwalk. Seafood is at its freshest here, and you can see the daily catch coming in on the boats and being unloaded while gulls soar overhead. There are plenty of activities and things to do in Ahuriri, and our friendly staff can make recommendations.
Napier central is just five minutes away, and is the lauded Art Deco capital. Razed to the ground in the 1931 earthquake, Napier came back to establish itself as a tourism and artistic hub. Check out examples of the stunning architecture, shop for the latest fashions and beautiful art and antiques, visit the National Aquarium, or enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine while soaking up the atmosphere of this exciting city. Hawke’s Bay is a region steeped in wine and food production. So while you’re here, a visit to one or two of the world-class wineries, or a wine tour in one of the sub-regions is a must.
